Our stores rely heavily on volunteers like YOU to keep everything running well and looking nice. And, of course, keeping our customers smiling.
Opportunities for involvement might include data entry, customer service, donation pickups, and cleaning, organizing and stocking inventory. With the rapid turnover of goods, you will find the work challenging but the atmosphere is pleasant and the people enjoyable.
Any number of hours per week are acceptable. Retirees and students welcome. Maybe you have experience in building, home repair or remodeling. Perhaps you’d like to know you’re making a difference environmentally or you really enjoy working with the public. Our orientation and training will help you fit right in.
We invite you to call us at 852-7574 or email nikki@resourceyork.com to discuss how you can help.

HANDY FOLKS NEEDED! Creating a store out of an empty warehouse takes some doing. While we got a lot of the work done before we moved into our new location at 161 E. Ninth Avenue, there are still some things that need to be done. And then there are jobs that need attention on a more regular basis (in both stores). If you can assist with any of the following, please give us a call.
EASY: mop floors . hang bulletin boards . clean windows .
INTERMEDIATE: assemble shelving . patch holes . paint walls . hang blinds . attach sign to back of building . power wash exterior brick walls and sidewalks . lawn mowing and basic grounds keeping/landscaping
SKILLED: Guest bathroom remodel (install vanity, replace toilet, add working vent, re-do the floor). Install doors to repair room and receiving room. Employee bathroom remodel (sand and paint walls, replace toilet, add towel holders and door lock). Community Room remodel (remove wall, paint walls, electrical work, replace air conditioner) .

i have some free time on my hands and would like to see how i might be able to volunteer with Re-source York. i’m not sure what hours or time slots are available.
i work full-time from 7:00 am to 5:00pm (mon-fri). on the weekends, i have some saturdays open. i have a 13yrs of warehouse experience (specifically with fasteners, handtools, and hardware) and also a general basic knowledge of painting, electrical, plumbing, and light carpentry.
what is the time committment required for volunteers?
let me know how or if i can help.
thanks!
